I know some people are critical of Valentine’s Day, saying you should love your spouse every day of the year and that it’s a holiday designed by the greeting card industry to sell more cards. I’m not saying they’re wrong, but I personally love Valentine’s Day. I love that there is a day set aside each year to let my husband know how much I love, admire, and appreciate him…in the sappiest and cheesiest ways possible, of course!
We eat fancy dinner and he gets me flowers and chocolate. I get him a hilariously inappropriate card (his love language) and he tells me all the reasons I’m wonderful (my love language). It’s basically a whole day designed to ‘fill each other’s tanks’. (Side note – that is a reference to The Five Love Languages by Gary Chapman. If you haven’t read it, you should! It’s a fantastic resource.)
I am probably also biased because 10 years ago on the day before Valentine’s Day, my long-time crush asked me to be his girlfriend in the gymnasium at our church. If you would have told me that five years later we would be married and five years after that we would be a family of three, I would have told you that you were crazy. Well…I probably would have giggled and excitedly said, “Really – you think so!? Did he say something?”, but what can you expect? I was in high school!
All of that to say, I really like Valentine’s Day, so I thought my Etsy shop needed a little decoration for the season! Here are the 2014 Valentine’s Day Prints from Wit & Wander’s Etsy Store:
