Moms of the World,
I know you’re very busy, but I just wanted to take a second to let you know that you are doing a great job. Even if your kiddos haven’t gotten dressed yet today, they have refused any vegetables for the last week, and you are three days behind on laundry, you are still doing a great job. Even if you are without a shower, painted nails chipping, and exhausted from a long night, you are still doing a great job. Even if you said “no” when you could have said “yes”, said “yes” when you should have said “no”, and are eternally being “so unfair”, you’re still doing a great job. Even if there are little shoes (and little footprints) all over your house, you haven’t had time to go grocery shopping this week, and you were 20 minutes late for that important thing, you are still doing a great job.
I don’t know if your days are filled with apple juice and Disney songs or coffee and meetings. But I do know that If you feed your kids, love them, and do your best to care for your family, everything else will fall into place. You will catch up on laundry eventually. One day you will actually finish that new book. Sometime you may even be able to get that stain out of the carpet. But today, just know that there is someone out there who is rooting for you and who thinks you are doing a great job.
I am always looking for ways to encourage the moms around me – what has someone done to encourage you? How do you encourage the moms in your life?
